The thing about island nations, Kaito reflected, is that they all had too much rain for his liking. While a little rain every now and again was necessary for life, it had been raining off and on all week. And Saguru had actually not gotten any calls since Monday
Meaning that they were stuck in the house.
And they were going stir-crazy.
"This SUCKS," Kaito declared, tossing the television remote across the room. He crossed his arms when Saguru looked at him over the rims of his glasses from behind the Doyle book he was reading. "There's nothing on television," he complained to the blonde.
Saguru's amber-colored eyes rolled towards the ceiling, but he put his book down. "Then put on a movie," he told Kaito, who stuck his tongue out at the detective. They both reached for the DVD remote, but Saguru's longer arms reached the device first. Across the room, the television flickered to blue, the DVD player powering on. In the upper right corner of the screen, the little play triangle appeared.
If it wasn't for the poker face, Kaito was sure his jaw would be on the floor. As it was, he could feel the sweat pouring down his back. CRAP.
An older, heavier version of Kid crept on screen, and Saguru's head slooooooowly turned back to stare at Kaito, wide-eyed. Kaito threw his hands up. "I have a perfectly reasonable explanation for this, I swear."
A blonde eyebrow arched delicately, and Saguru made a 'continue' motion with his free hand.
"I was really bored?" he attempted, grinning at his friend. And had to duck when Saguru threw a pillow at his head.
"Okay! Okay, fine! I couldn't resist. Curiosity killed the cat and all that, you know?"
"Well, I'm about to kill a kaitou, so it all works out," Saugru quipped.
"Hey now!" Kaito held his hands up in defense. "No tantei-kaitou interaction here. Don't you think we have enough as it is?"
Saguru threw another pillow at the magician.
