I had to rewrite this, but THERE IS A NEW CHAPTER. It was going to be Chapter 5, but it's Chapter 4 instead. All I did to change things was to make everything so far be before the troll encounter, so no rereading required.

Note: this 'other kind of elf' is a subgroup I made up on my own and does not exist in canon. You have been warned.

(One of us…one of us…) I also know that I’m breaking a person rule of not using Japanese since I can’t be 100% sure that I’m using it correctly, but it’s hard to imagine Kaito as Kaitou Kid referring to Shinichi as anything other than “tantei-kun”.
